about
Based in the riverside hamlet of Bladnoch in South West Scotland, artist Rosie Dobson takes inspiration from the abundance of wildlife in the pastures, forests and coastline on her doorstep.
Rosie's work reflects her love of book illustration and traditional woodcuts and engravings. As well as influencing her own prints, this passion is evident in the selection of old books for sale in the shop which have been chosen specifically for the miniature works of art hiding between the pages. As well as original prints, cards and textiles, the shop showcases stunning silver jewellery, Art Nouveau and Arts & Crafts metalware, and beautiful vintage jewellery - all reflecting nature in their design and use of materials.
Rosie grew up in the big-sky, flat fens of East Anglia before moving to Sussex to study English Literature. She settled in Derbyshire to start a family but relocated to the stunning Dumfries & Galloway hills after falling in love with the area on a summer holiday.
"Fountain Stone was named for my wonderful grandmothers, Iris and Win, whose humour, love and grit fill my boots."
